VERIFIED: The DEAIB Endorsement for Schools

Take a moment to think about your school, its culture, and the members of your school community. Then, answer the following questions:

  1. How do the employees, students, and families with marginalized identities experience work, schooling, and community?

  2. Does your school culture foster a healthy climate where all community members are respected, feel safe, and are supported?

  3. Does each and every member receive the tools and resources they need to fully access, contribute to, and participate as members of the school community?

  4. Does your school adopt and enact policies, promote traditions, and establish expectations that isolate employees, students, and families?

There is a strong possibility that completely answering these questions requires more information derived from perspectives that you may not have. How do you go about gathering that information? How do you make connections to obtain a complete picture of the experiences of the entire school community?

The VERIFIED Endorsement helps schools get to those answers, and more. The program guides and authenticates your school’s active progress towards diversity, equity, antiracism, integration, and belonging (DEAIB). Our planning, accountability, and continuous improvement model is trauma-sensitive, standards-based, and grounded on the belief that the voices and experiences of people with marginalized identities are integral to building and sustaining a school culture that is safe, supportive, culturally responsive, and free from racism and bias. We help your school create the environment that supports the experience that each and every employee, student, and family deserves.
