Julia Loving is a product of the New York City public school system where she has worked as a School Media Specialist, Africana Studies and African American Literature teacher for 28 years. Currently, she works at Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy in the Bronx, New York. She has donated time to being the Teacher Advisor for her school’s Black Student Union and Gender Sexuality Alliance clubs. She has received numerous educational grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Funds For Teachers program. She also trains students and educators in empathy and inclusive education.

Julia holds a master of arts in American history, a master of science in library information science, and a master of arts in educational technology. She is also trained in culturally responsive education and restorative justice practices. Her motto is, “My students are only as motivated and inspired about learning, as I am.”
